September Featured Photographer

Arne Kalma is our featured photographer for September 2020. 

Arne’s career as a physicist working on optical sensor technology, although ocular in nature, contributed little to his interest in photography, which began in the 1960s.  Arne used several different cameras until 2005 when he purchased his first DSLR.  Basically self-taught Arne improved his photographic skills from trial-and-error, advice from friends, photography literature, and, particularly now, from the experienced photographers of the Morgan Hill Photography Club.

Since retirement, 15 years ago, a significant portion of his work has been devoted to travel.  He has assembled many travel related slideshows that have been shared at senior citizen facilities both on his own and under the sponsorship of the club.  Several of these shows are available for club members to view in the club’s facebook group MHPC Video Archives.  The pictures he is sharing, An Overview of Asia, are an example of what Arne tries to do in his shows.
