“Square” Photographic Exhibit

Square format (i.e. the same length on all four sides) photography is reminiscent of images taken in medium format film with a Hasselblad, Rolleiflex, or Mamiya camera.  With the advent of Instagram, square format photography has experienced a resurgence.   Square format photography creates some compositional challenges.  Today’s photographer is all too used to wide formats (3:2 and 16:9) and not used to thinking in other terms.  Many of the traditional composition techniques are not directly applicable in a square format. Explore how the club’s photographers interpreted this theme.  The club’s Sixth Virtual Photographic Exhibit is available for viewing on-line from Sunday, May 1 through Sunday, June 12, 2022.

The Square photographic exhibition is no longer available for viewing.
