“Long Exposure” is the Theme For August

Long Exposures – The way to control motion in your photographs is to use different shutter speeds.  Short exposures freeze motion while long exposures blur motion. Longer shutter speeds can also be used to obscure moving elements.  Long exposures are used to make moving water softer, capture light trails, capture faint light like the Milky Way, and light painting.  A tripod is a good idea, but you can get interesting results by moving the camera, panning, or zooming the lens during the exposure.

Create photographs that fit the theme and upload up to five of them to the club’s Monthly Photo Themes flickr group.  Post them during AUGUST, not before or after, that way they’ll appear together with other club member’s images.
