“Black and White” Photographic Exhibit

Black and white photography uses different tones of gray or a monochrome color ranging from light to dark to create compelling images. The absence of different colors means that the photographer needs to concentrate on other aspects of the scene since color cannot be used as a compositional element. Therefore the photographer looks for contrast, shapes and textures and tries to emphasize them; using long exposures; selective dodging and burning; patterns; filters (such as infrared); and, all the same time remembering that black makes white “pop.” The club members have submitted their images and they are now on display. The club’s Fifth Virtual Photographic Exhibit is available for viewing on-line from Saturday, May 15 through Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

The Black and White photographic exhibition is no longer available for viewing.
