Artist’s Statement: I have been on four African safaris, each time traveling with other photographers seeking to capture images of mostly the animals that populate the savannas, forests, deserts, and rivers.
These photos are from the latest two safaris: Zimbabwe & Botswana in August of 2019, and Tanzania in early 2020 (I made it home just as the virus shut down began). Please read the comments for additional information about the photos
From this limited collection I omitted many of the animals I photographed: birds, baboons, crocodiles, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, and a diversity of antelope. You can view those on my website, as well as scenic views of the savanna; the Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras; and shots of our safari camps.
