Fight, Love, Live. That’s the motto of Filoli . Located 30 miles south of San Francisco, Filoli is an historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century. Whether enjoying its beauty or pursuing its educational opportunities, you are invited to explore this cherished community resource. It’s beautiful gardens have been the inspiration for many artists and photographers. Here is your chance to join other club members and guests to photograph this historic estate.
Fees: If you are not a Filoli member – Adults $20; Seniors (65 years and older) $17, Students (with valid ID) $10, K–12 educators (with employee ID) from adjoining counties (San Francisco, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Alameda); and, National Trust for Historic Preservation members $10. We will try to secure a special group discount if we have a group of 12 or more.
What to Bring: Dress appropriately, camera gear can include any lens but be sure to include a tripod. A macro lens would be great along with a polarizing filter. You may want to include a flash for those Fill-in and special lighting shots. Get low to the ground, if so, you may want to bring knee pads or a gardeners pad. Both are helpful.
Carpools will leave promptly at 1:00PM from the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, for those needing a ride. After spending the afternoon photographing the gardens, join other participants for dinner, at Locando Positano Restaurant, 617 Laurel Street, San Carlos, before returning to Morgan Hill.
